Finding Quiet Time
I have only recently delved into the world of Tarot; with unabated enthusiasm might I add. I grew up in a small coastal town without much knowledge of Tarot or Astrology or anything mystical. I only knew that I was deeply connected to the spiritual world. I would often get messages from the other side in the form of gripping gut instincts. I was able to process this information because my dwellings were in the forest and near the water. Ocean, deep rivers and lakes surrounded me. It was the ultimate sanctuary of peace and tranquility.
I currently live in Fort Worth, Texas. It is the hustle and bustle hub swallowed by pavement, massive housing complexes, electrical wires and heavy machinery. Highways and biways and road construction galore. It is the mecca of stress. On top of which I have two children still at home and three dogs. I can hardly find time to listen to the spirits let alone sit down for an hour, close my eyes enough to relax and concentrate on the cards I must choose that holds the answers I must further meditate on to completely understand the gift the cosmos are entrusting to me.
I am thankful to be moving soon to Missouri. I have a house nestled in the Ozarks...I can't hear cars or see other houses. It is surrounded by the water of lakes. Maybe I will find the quiet I need in those woods that escapes me in this concrete jungle.
I believe tarot requires us to relax, light candles, be uninterrupted and at peace with our surroundings.
I also believe tarot readers should maintain their health. Live to a higher standard in mind body and spirit.

So True!
That's funny, Billy Jo - I am making the same sort of move this summer. While I love city life, I have to agree that being closer to nature is psychically easier for me!
Good luck with your move, and thanks for your contribution to our community tarot blog. I hope you will post often!
Thank you Christiana! I am
Thank you Christiana! I am very much one with nature. I do like the city life a bit but I never feel at peace here...it seems so aggressive and cold. It is good for my spirited side...go out and dance side but terrible for my grounded side ;)
Where will you move to if you don't mind my asking?
Moving
Indeed. I am moving from West Palm Beach to Davie, which a a suburb of Fort Lauderdale, but very agrarian. It is about an hour further south, too, which is awesome - from sub-tropical to tropical!
Is it the deck or the reader?
The personal connection to any Tarot and/or Oracle deck is highly dependent on your own journey within the spirit world. One doesn't just become a reader by study. When a reading seems jumbled it's probably because it is. Not many people have a close personal connection with the deck they are using rather, it is a gift bestowed upon the reader by spirit guides and other cosmic forces. In essence a true reader can use any deck and get the intended reading for said individual.
I have three different Tarot Decks and one Oracle deck. The Tarot of Vampyres by Ian Daniels, Shadowscapes Tarot by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and Steampunk Tarot by Barbara Moore are all excellent decks to read from. My personal favorite is my Oracle deck "The Enchanted Map" by Collette Baron-Reid.
The point is reading comes from the soul and not the deck. So beginners relax your mind, let the spirits guide you and it will not matter what deck you use to do a reading. It will just be as it is suppose to be.

Hey, this is a nice piece - but I think you meant it to be a blog post rather than a comment?
